With qualifications in business, law and journalism, Jay is a General Counsel with over two decades of practicing legal experience in specialist fields, including technology, intellectual property, and utilities.

Jay is deeply committed to equality, resource equality and the provision of essential services, with a strong focus on ensuring that critical systems and technologies are accessible, fairly distributed, and capable of serving communities at scale.

Since founding DMED in 2020, Jay has been driven by the technical sophistication of DMED’s patented technology and its ability to address a genuine unmet need at the intersection of infection control, medical devices, and medical packaging.

Jay is inspired by the technology’s broad platform potential, with applicability across major industries and multiple single-use device categories.  

Over the past six years, Jay has been deeply engaged with the legal context surrounding DMED and its procedural barrier technology. Jay is the mastermind behind DMED’s multi-jurisdictional intellectual property protection.  

DMED has recently secured full patent registration in the United States, with patents presently under examination in multiple other jurisdictions around the world, including Australia, India, and Europe.
